Sexual violence is a common factor in domestic violence, and yet, it is not widely understood, nor is it recognized and responded to. This training provides an overview of coercive control and the dynamics of intimate partner sexual violence. This training will also provide information about supporting women who have experienced IPSV, men who have perpetrated IPSV, and prevention efforts. This training will help to develop the confidence and ability of individuals (advocates, therapist, professionals in the criminal-legal field, and preventionists) to respond and address IPSV, but will also explore how to enhance our systems response to better hold men who perpetrate ISPV accountable and how we can better support the partners who experience IPSV.
