Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence provides information on domestic violence screening and policy guidelines within the health care field.

Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA) represents the sexual assault programs in Maryland. They provide advocacy, education, outreach, and technical assistance.

Maryland Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program. Need to keep your address confidential? Maryland Safe at Home provides a process to keep your home address safe. Their phone number is 1-800-633-9657 x3875.

VINE Maryland (Victim Information & Notification Everyday). Need to know the status of an abuser in the criminal justice system? VINE offers information about offenders, including court dates and status of release.

Women's Law Center of Maryland provides legal resources and information in multiple areas of law, including domestic violence, family law, and child custody.

Maryland Crime Victim's Resource Center (MCRVRC) provides information on victim's rights and resources, including VINE. Their phone number is 1-877-VICTIM-1 (1-877-812-8461).

Maryland Judiciary Administrative Office of the Courts Dept. of Family Administration has information about the courts, including peace and protective order forms.

Maryland AIDS Administration. The AIDS Administration is part of the Health Dept. in Baltimore City. They specialize in training, prevention, and LGBT communities.

Maryland General Assembly. Contact your legislator or check the status of bills.

 

National

The Violence Against Women Office (OVW) provides information on domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence at the federal level.

National Resource Center on Domestic Violence offers resources, technical assistance, and training to organizations, including the Women of Color Network and VAWnet. Their number is 1-800-537-2238.

Domestic Violence and Mental Health Policy Initiative (DVMHPI) provides resource on the intersection of mental health, domestic violence, and trauma.

The National Center for Victims of Crime provides resources and advocacy for crime victims and organizations working with crime victims across the country. Their phone number is 1-800-FYI-CALL (1-800-394-2255) or TTY: 1-800-211-7996.

Family Violence Prevention Fund focuses on developing and disseminating domestic violence prevention messages through media campaigns geared towards audiences such as men and youth.

National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) provides fact sheets, information, action opportunities, public policy efforts, and trainings for professionals.

National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) provides information and updates on federal legislation affecting domestic violence victims and programs.

Violence Against Women Online Resources is a collaborative project between Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse (MINCAVA), the University of Minnesota, and the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) to ensure that VAWA-related resources are available on the web.

National Organization for Women (NOW) is an organization supporting women's issues, which includes domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other issues. There are local NOW chapters as well as Maryland NOW.

Rape Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is the largest anti-sexual assault organization in the nation, offering a national hotline, an online hotline, and educational materials. Their number is 1-800-656-HOPE (1-800-656-4673).

Batterer Intervention Services Coalition of Michigan provides information on the efforts for batterer intervention and abuser accountability in Michigan and offers information from other states.

Stalking Resource Center provides prevention and outreach materials and resources on help for stalking victims and for organizations.

 

Justice System (National)

Bureau of Justice Statistics provides access to national and state-specific crime statistics, including intimate partner violence.

Battered Women's Justice Project provides resources specific to the criminal and civil justice system.

National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges Family Violence Dept. provides training and policy development, such as the Greenbook Initiative and child custody and visitation.

American Bar Association (ABA) Commission on Domestic Violence provides services to attorneys representing victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking as well as training opportunities.

Faith Trust Institute focuses on the role of religion in domestic and sexual violence and offers resources and materials.

Peaceful Families provides training and resources for organizations on domestic violence within Muslim communities.

Jewish Women International (JWI) focuses on domestic violence in Jewish communities throughout the country and beyond, with an emphasis on prevention through youth education and with a special legal initiative.

Sacred Circle is a leader in domestic violence affecting tribal families and native women.

Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence offers culturally-specific advocacy to Asian victims of domestic violence in the Boston-area. The website provides information and resources for Asian victims.

Asian & Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence is a national network and clearinghouse for information on violence against women in API communities.

Alianza: The National Latino Alliance for the Elimination of Domestic Violence provides community education and development, public policy, research, training and technical assistance.

Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community focuses on the unique problem of domestic violence in African American communities and the ways it should be addressed differently to improve service provision.

National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline. LoveIsNotAbuse.org is geared towards internet-savvy youth. Teens can seek help online or via telephone with peer support.

Break the Cycle engages, educates and empowers youth to build lives and communities free from domestic and dating violence.

The Network/La Red is a national leader in domestic violence for lesbians, bisexual women, and transgendered people.

Gay Men's Domestic Violence Project is a leader in serving gay men, bisexual men, and transgendered people.

The Northwest Network has articles on domestic violence in LBGT communities and offers assistance to organizations nationally.

 

 

International

American Domestic Violence Crisis Line is an international hotline that Americans around the globe can call for help. From the U.S. or Canada, call 1-866-879-6636. From other countries, visit the website for dialing instructions.

Amnesty International includes violence against women as one of their priorities.

Women Watch is an inter-agency site of the United Nations that is updated with global women's issues which includes domestic violence, rape, and other forms of violence against women around the world.

White Ribbon Campaign-Men Working to End Violence Against Women is an international campaign, begun in Canada, that empowers men to stop violence against women. Information for educators and resources for youth are on the website.
